This is the year that Adventures in Learning, the after school academic and enrichment program for underserved Manhasset and Great Neck students, will be commemorating its 50th Anniversary. To celebrate, preparations are underway to do so at the organization’s 8th annual Wine Tasting Soiree, its yearly fundraiser that supports these programs.
This event is expected to be a very hot ticket item. The soiree will be held at the Village Club of Sands Point, Friday, March 2nd, and will commence with cocktails at 7:30PM, followed by themed delicacies paired with selected wines to be served in tasting rooms. This is definitely an event not to be missed.
This year’s honorees will be Kurt and Nina Kiess. A native of Manhasset, Kurt served as President of the Adventure’s Board of Directors for seven years. To thank them, Adventures wishes to honor Kurt and Nina for their dedication and devotion to the students and the organization. Residents of Manhasset, the Kiesses have three children.
Guests will once again stroll to music provided by the Meade Brothers amidst the creative, exquisite décor arranged by Westhampton floral interior designers Debbie and Steve Boehl of Honeysuckle & Roses. A short video to celebrate the 50th Anniversary will also be shown.
Everyone will have the opportunity to participate in the popular raffle and silent auction. Soiree tickets are $175 per person and $100 for young adults ages 21-30. Kash for Kids raffle tickets are $100 each with three prizes of $3,000, $1,500 and $500. Silent auction donations are now being accepted.
The Digital Journal Page will be on display during the event. Ad prices are $500 for a full page, $250 for a half page and $100 for a quarter page. Donors will receive a CD copy of the journal.
