Manhasset, NY (March 6, 2026) – Even as the grass remains blanketed in snow, Adventures in Learning is looking ahead to warmer days with its much-anticipated Spring Gala. Join us on Friday, March 13, 2026, to savor delicious cuisine and mingle in celebration of the impactful work of Adventures in Learning. The event begins at 7:00 PM at the Manhasset Bay Yacht Club, 455 Shore Road, Port Washington.

Guests will enjoy an exceptional dinner prepared by Manhasset Bay’s renowned catering team, featuring themed savory dishes artfully paired with selected wines. After dinner, dance to festive music surrounded by exquisite décor created by Westhampton floral interior designers Debbie and Steve Boehl of Honeysuckle & Roses.

With dreams of the sun returning, the Soirée is expected to attract a large crowd. Ticket prices are as follows: Adults: $200 and Young Adults (ages 21–30): $130. Proceeds from this fundraiser will support Adventures in Learning’s after-school academic and enrichment programs for underserved Manhasset and Great Neck students. This year’s honorees are Kristi and Scott Wede and their family.

Kristi and Scott Wede have lived in Manhasset since 2005. They have raised their four children—Kate (19), Luke (17), Michael (17), and Jack (14)—with a focus on meaningful relationships, civic mindedness, and compassion for others. Over the past two decades, they have been actively engaged in their schools, athletics, and service initiatives.

As a family, they have generously supported Adventures in Learning. Each spring, the Wede family works together to create a special annual book fair for Adventures students—collecting gently used books, sorting donations, and transforming the Hagedorn Community Center into a welcoming space that reflects the discovery, imagination, and opportunity that books provide. It is a tradition the Wede family is both committed to and excited about throughout the year.

Kate, Michael, and Luke have also tutored Adventures students and volunteered at the EOC camp—Kate teaching tennis and Michael and Luke basketball over multiple summers. Jack is following in his older siblings’ footsteps and will begin volunteering at Adventures more independently once he enters high school.
